Seven Years ago Matt and I were just best friends in a high school marching band. Now we're adults, real adults, like the kind that start families and households. I can’t imagine anyone else making me smile like Matthew makes me smile.
Matthew and I got engaged on the 22nd, we like to say 23rd it's easier to remember, of December 2007. We took a nice walk in at dusk Balboa Park. We walked all around the park and when we reached the Organ Pavilion he got down on one knee and ask me to marry him. I didn’t know what to do so I kiss him.
I was surprised how well Matt planned the proposal out and glad to find out he was anxiety to ask me to marry him. This is the man who 15 minutes prior to traveling just opens up his closet picks a few shirts, sweaters, and pants and throws them in a bag, hangers and all. He actually went to my house and asked my father for my hand in marriage, that meant a lot to me and I know it meant a lot to my dad. Then he went out and bought me a beautiful ring. I love my ring, I must say I was never the type of girl that imaged having a big diamond ring but now that I have it I am glad I do, best of all the diamond is not a blood-diamond, and that makes me really happy.
I have a confession to make, I only wrote this much so that I could look at my ring shine as my hands glided across the keyboard.
